WOMENS EMPOWERMENT WEEK
29.11.21 - 05.12.21
Supporting Our Local Community
In partnership with Col8, a Birmingham based Vintage clothing store, we organised and hosted 'Women's Empowerment Week' in association with local charity WAITS (Women Acting In Today's Society).
Throughout the week we delivered a programme of various workshops and events to raise money for WAITS and offered free space in our store for 15 independent women owned businesses to help promote and support their brands.
Collectively we managed to raise over £400 for WAITS and unite the local community in support of a great cause.
A Talk On Joy
During Women's Empowerment Week local journalist, Tahmina Begum, hosted a talk in store with a panel of South Asian women from different professional backgrounds. They shared their experiences in the areas of joy, love and work. By holding this safe space the crowd was able to enjoy, share with and learn from these inspirational women.
The Aram by Tahmina Begum
The Aram, written by Tahmina, is an exploration of joy, love and what’s bringing ease to women of colour and Muslim women. The Aram newsletter is usually found online and sent out periodically to email subscribers.
Thankyou all for joining us and making this all possible!
