What Are Mudras? How Simple Hand Positions Support Focus, Calm and Vitality

The Mudra Collection is designed to remind you of your inner strength and resilience. You really do have all you need!

The back of the shirt/hood is a reminder of your tools that you can come back to whenever you need to recalibrate.

Your body already has many tools for focus, calm, energy and clarity and Mudras are one of them. These simple hand positions have been used for centuries to influence our  attention, the nervous system and our internal state.

I could over explain and bore you but you should test things for yourself, do your own research and keep what works for you.

GYAN MUDRA — WISDOM

Top centre · 12 o’clock

Gyan Mudra is about clarity, focus and learning. It is commonly used in meditation to quiet mental noise and sharpen awareness. It sits at the top for a reason, perception is everything. This will help you to quieten distraction.

VARUN MUDRA — WATER

Top left · 11 o’clock

Water is for the flow. In the body, the mind and in communication.

Varun Mudra is traditionally linked to hydration and skin health, but symbolically it’s about softness and adaptability. Useful when things feel rigid, blocked or hard to express.

SHUNYA MUDRA — EMPTINESS (as in more room to breathe)

Front / 2 o’clock

Shunya Mudra is associated with the sense of hearing and inner space. It’s often used when there’s sensory overload i.e. ringing, pressure, dizziness or just too much noise internally.

VAYU MUDRA — AIR

Bottom right · 4 o’clock

Air governs movement. The thoughts, breath and nervous system.

Vayu Mudra is used to calm excess air in the system. Helpful for anxiety, restlessness, tension and looping thoughts.

SURYA MUDRA — FIRE

Bottom centre · 6 o’clock

Fire is energy, digestion and transformation.

Surya Mudra is traditionally linked to metabolism, immunity and vitality. On a deeper level, it’s about ignition, or turning intention into action.

PRANA MUDRA — LIFE FORCE

Bottom left · 8 o’clock

For energy.

Prana Mudra is used to wake things up. To stimulate and circulate life force when you’re feeling flat, drained or disconnected.

Next time you catch yourself drifting, tense, or overloaded, try one. Notice what shifts. The tools are already in your hands. Use them when you need them.

With Love
